Hey lovelies! I got a new eye shadow palette for my birthday and I just had to do a review. I mean, just look at how pretty it is!

My boyfriend bought me the Violet Voss Flamingo eye shadow palette and I am honestly so impressed that he bought it without any female input. He just knew that I would love it and I am happy to tell you that it performs as well as it looks.

First of all, let’s just appreciate how cute the packaging is! The summery vibes continue in the vibrant and very diverse colour scheme. There are so many shades in this palette, but unlike most palettes on the market, this palette isn’t confined to a warm, cool or neutral colour scheme. There are pinks, reds, blues, greens, purples… and the list goes on. They come in matte, foiled and glitter finishes. There is also a matte black that (in my opinion) completes a look.

These richly-pigmented shadows are incredibly versatile and you can get so creative with your looks! They are so easy to blend and I have tried all of them since I got the palette (21 May and it’s 31 May today).

My favourite shades? To be honest I love them all, but especially the matte pink/coral shades such as “Popsicle,” “Sunbathe,” “Sandals” and, of course, “Flamingos”. “Lemonade” is also an amazing matte yellow and it’s so rare to get a good yellow eye shadow. The mattes work really well in the crease and lid and I love dabbing one of the many shimmery or foiled shades on top. “Sand” is great for using as a base shade as well as blending harsh edges. As I mentioned earlier, “Sunnies” is an amazing matte black.

They last all day. They would probably last over 14 hours but I haven’t tested beyond that. Just for reference, I apply an eye primer from Rimmel beforehand.

Worth the price tag?

  • Amazing colour pay off and does not require much building up
  • Very easy to blend
  • Very pretty and durable packaging
  • Travel friendly – large mirror and so many different shades (not just different shades of brown or red or blue like most palettes)
  • No patchiness
  • Lasts a very long time
  • All the shades and finishes that you could ever need (warm and cool tones; mattes, foiled and shimmers)
  • Rare to get an amazing matte yellow and matte black

I have never tried anything from Violet Voss before, but I am very impressed with the quality of this palette. I am so happy that my boyfriend discovered it!
